Customer Reviews

"Healthy, wholesome lunches and incredible dinners at the diner's club. Great variety! Just shows what talented cooks you are! Without you we wouldn't have a classy evening spot to take clients to that is worthwhile! We truly do appreciate you here."

-Jane Berryhill

"Our day to day LBJ favorites are comfort burritos and powerful pizzas. On occasion, however, we want fine dining and to drink wine - this is our reward for working so hard. And that's the LBJ Diners Club - an oasis of culinary excellence in the Bitterroot Valley."

-Susan and Peter Rosten

"I am so glad there are restaurants like LBJ that care about people enough to do away with trans fat and other unheathy food items. Your food is delicious. It is what I call clean food. Thank you for caring."

team

We have Executive Chef Micheal at the core of LBJ.

He is from Salt Lake City and Apprenticed in Alaska for 5 years with Princess Cruise Lines to obtain certification under Master Chef Micheal McCann. Mike ran the famous Tuscany kitchen for 7 years and opened up 3 sister restaurants for the owners. He is Zagat rated as excellent . He starred in many cooking shows on local TV shows and has had many articles in national magazines and newspapers.

How did he end up in Darby Montana?

The mountains. After living in Alaska Micheal wanted to go back, but his wife thought it was to far from family. Mike, Monica and their two boys started camping in the states surrounding Utah to find their spot in the mountians.

“We were driving from Hamilton to the Rombo campground up the West Fork Rd. in the summer of 2000 and we said, this is it.”

Next we have Darren Goo, a very talented cook and Mike right hand. Darren makes our special Terriaki Sauce and on special days only in the back of the house creates many asian fused dishes.

We also have TJ Sonners. He has a great talent and just graduated from the Western Culinary Institute in Portland OR. He makes all the baked goods including the pizza dough and homemade fococia bread we use for the panini sandwhich. TJ is also a very gifted guitar player and plays whenever he can.

Joe Stanford is our everything guy. He can cook anything on the menu and work the front. He is a big help to us. He hopes to go to culinary school one day.

Last but not least is Max Campbell. He works the dish pit and can cook when we get slammed. He is also Mike’s16 year old son and he is teaching all he can to Max about cooking. Max is attending MAPS, Media Art in Public schools. He hopes to work in the movie industry one day.
